Battery Life - Stanley Clarke Signature Short Scale
« on: December 08, 2020, 02:25:02 PM »
About how long do batteries last on a Stanley Clarke Signature short scale?  My series 1 has the blue box, so I don't have a sense of Alembic battery life.
I play 4+ hours a day, so need a bit of longevity. I do know to unplug when not playing - already do that on my Fodera.

Cheers to all!

Most people only change their battery once or twice a year in the Stanley Clarke Signature models.

The difference between battery life on a Series instrument vs. a non-Series is night and day.  My Series I guitar eats batteries, while the battery in my Further seems to last forever!

I have an SC deluxe and standard. Batteries have lasted anywhere from 7-12 months. After having one die on me in the middle of a performance they now get changed every 6 months and I always keep spares as well as a small screwdriver in my case.

On my Brown Bass batteries lasted anywhere from 6 - 12 months when I was playing regularly. One thing to note is unlike some other active basses where you get an indication the battery is going with my Alembics it is clean then immediately to distortion with no forewarning. Due to this I would always change the battery for important occasions and kept a fresh spare in the case.

The ONLY time I've ever had a battery die was... During a paid studio session. Of course! Ugh... That was the ultimate embarrassment.

OUCH!  I change batteries on my other two active basses on the quarter days - Jan 1, April 1, July 1, and Sept 1. Having the info that the Stanley Clarke will be good on that schedule means we're good to go!

But I confess to even then having changed batteries before a big gig, just so I don't have that to worry about.
