Alembic string question

I just picked up a set of new (unused) Alembic CX-3/45L's.
The package says can be used for long and medium scale basses. The question I have is the E and G strings start to wind into the tuning peg about 3/4 after the turquoise silk on my 32 scale Distillate. So it looks like at least 3/4 of a turn on the E string tuner will be on the main body of the string.  
This may be a mute point but does this sound right?

I think it should be ok - I believe that the important thing is not to cut the string below the silk, but having some silk-less string wrapped around the tuning peg should be fine. That's a problem with GHS Precision Flats on regular Fender basses too:

  It's not so much the silk on the tuning peg but on a quick look it looks like the main part of the string will be on the peg past the taper. Just curious on string integrity of what a bend would do on this location. I guess it's that whole debate, can you use long scale strings on a short scale bass. Some people say they never had issues with string failures some did.
 
  On the package it says Medium to Long Scale so I guess it should be OK. Just curious
