Hi Folks, first post...

I'm looking to buy the above and would appreciate if anyone knows about it, or where I could discover what would be considered a reasonable price.

Never considered an Alembic before, but this opportunity pops up so :-)

Welcome,

The free service is handled by Mica (the daughter of the founders) when she gets free time so please be patient.  If you post pictures many here will assist in your quest while you wait for the lookup.

You can learn about Rogue basses:

Hello David and welcome to the forum.  It appears that the serial number you provided is missing a digit (1997 instruments are mainly in the 10,000 bracket). Please check and make another post to this thread. Best of everything with your acquisition.  Art

OK, I checked with the seller, the serial was wrong, it's: 97Q11029

That looks better David, thanks!  I found nothing previously posted here on the forum so it looks like you'll need to wait for the lookup or post some pictures as Funkyjazzjunky suggested.  As for price may I suggest browsing through the Swap Shop > For Sale and Seen on... sections for a better idea.  Of course price is subjective and a lot depends on the condition of the instrument.

Well here's a photo - not a good one though...

Actually looks a lot like this one:

Hi David,

Here's what I was able to find out:

top: Rosewood
accent: Maple laminate
body: Mahogany
beck: 5-piece Maple with 4 Walnut pinstripes
scale: 34 long
fingerboard: Ebony
inlays: weird note-see below
finish: Satin Natural Polyurethane, oil-look
pickups: MXY56
controls: volume, filter, Q-switch, bass cut-flat-boost, treble cut-flat-boost, mono output
originally made for: Foto Fono, Norway
birthday: September 18, 1997

It says NONE on the inlays, then it is crossed out and circled in an oval shape. There are ovals in the picture, so I can only assume there was a change, and from the pic, I'll guess they are the Pearloid (plastic) ovals.
