Greetings, John, and welcome to the club!. Mica and the wonderful people at Alembic make an extraordinary effort helping us with the info on our instruments, and it can get VERY detailed as in types of wood used, the electronics, the original buyer or retailer it was built for, the exact date of birth on our instruments, among other interesting data. Each Alembic instrument has a Birth certificate which is unique, and since these are NOT built in series, each Alembic instrument has personal features of its own. Therefore, I?d strongly suggest you to write the complete serial number, so the exact information for your instrument can be found (other than it being a 1996 Epic 4-string bass -probably mahogany with a walnut or koa top, and what seems to be the Epic MXY pickups and electronics, the pic is also small as to tell on further details), there is no way to tell more from the info you?ve provided so far.
Most of the info on our Alembic instruments is on paper, this is, a physical file on which Mica has to browse carefully until finding the birth info on each particular instrument. This also means the process takes some time, since this is something Mica does in her scarce spare time. So please be patient, and confident on that the requested info is on it?s way, but it may take time.
Can you post some more pictures? Maybe in the introductions area? And be welcome, again!
