Hi there at Alembic,
I bought the electronics and pickups AXY-4 RA out of a Mark King Signature 4-string bass over here in Germany on eBay. I would like to use it for a 5-string bass. Is it possible to order just the 5-string pickups and use them with the electronics, that I have already. I own three Alembic Basses, a wonderful old Persuader, a Spoiler and a Essence, all 5-strings. And they are all fantastic!:-)))))

You can order the 5-string pickups and they will work. If the string spread above the bridge pickup doesn't exceed 2.75 inches, you can use the 4-string pickups.

I'm sad to hear there is a gutless Mark King bass in Germany now.

To place an order, you can contact orders at alembic dot com. If you are getting anything else from the store, you can place your order online and simply add that you need the 5-string pickups in the comments area and we will add it to your order.

Hi Mica,
the guy, who sold the pickups & electronics, wrote me , that he wanted to install Musicman like Pickups?!?

I couldn\t understand that, but i think he must be mad!
What is the exact name of the pickups and what is the price without the electronics?
The second question: would it make sense, to add a Q-switch to my 88 Persuader? How much would that cost, if you send it over to me.

You would order AXY56 pickups for regular aperture (what was originally supplied on a Mark King) or order FatBoy56 for the wide aperture pickups (same coil, wound on a Series I/II magnet).
