Alembic Jazz (single coil) vs Fatboys for Series sound?

This is something I'd like to know, if the series PUs are single coil and the closest to Series sound are the Fatboys (not single coil), I read...  
Then how would the Alembic Jazz (single coil) PUs compare?
 
And a bonus question for the members who have two Alembic Jazz PUs; how close to Fender Jazz PUs do they sound, when/if the Q-switch is at 0 db?
 
You see, all that gives me some interesting ideas...

Hi Louis-Gino,
 
The JZ pickups are not single coil, they have the stacked humcancelling construction the same as the FatBoy, MXY, and AXY pickups. Only the Series I/II pickups are single coil construction (and they of course have an external hum cancelling coil).  
 
Since you're in England, you might want to try out the Jazz-style bass at Bass World.  
 
The smaller the aperture of the magnet, the less information it gathers from the strings. It's difficult to put into words, but you can probably get some idea of this effect by comparing the FatBoy pickups you have to either the MXY or AXY pickups you have. If you can hear the difference between them, then you can understand the direction that making the magnet a smaller aperture takes you.

Thanks for the info and links. I have never been there, but I saw it on line before. Maybe one day I'll pop in if I get a chance and try one.
 
Your explanation is fine, I understand much better now, I don't know were I read that the Alembic Jazz Pu was single coil?  
I didn't make it up myself, it was wrong info...
 
Then I guess, in order we have Fatboy (bigger sound), AXY/MXY (medium) and Jazz (thinner). I can imagine what the difference might be, because I have the Fatboys and an MXY. Anyway, I'll be curious to hear it soon or later. This shop has got loads of nice Alembics!
