Serial 96w10088, Bought off ebay for $920. Stuck offshore now, so haven't been able to play it yet, but my roommate says it sounds sweet. Also got f2b for $360. One odd thing. The bridge was backwards. The saddle for the B was under the G and vice versa. Everything else was fine.

Wow, thats great! The bass was advertised as walnut top. I think Wenge is much better. Thanks Val.

Maybe the bass was being played by a lefty and he reversed the strings and flipped the bass over to be able to play it left handed.

That's definitely a possibility, Willie. If that is the case you might check the nut to see if it is reversed too.
Maybe the bridge was removed for cleaning, etc. and they didn't pay attention when they reinstalled it. That happened to a guitarist I used to back up. The intonation was way off. He tuned the open strings and chords on the first few frets. Whenever he played chords way up on the neck it sounded horrible. It was during a 5 hour gig with no time to take it off and reverse it and no spare guitar. Man was that a long night.
