The new Nickel Creek record is fantastic.
I gave my Dad two tickets to see the Dan Tyminski Band next month here in Roanoke. I got a heads-up from my buddy John over at Bluegrass Today, because he's on the mail list for everything and everybody in bluegrass music. Got really good seats. I imagine he will take my sister while I look after our Mom.
Only thing music-related for me; a Stewart MacDonald e-gift certificate. Which will be put to immediate use when I get back to the shop.

Just started listening to it. It really is a gem.
Opened this gift today, reading material to go along with the music (we are NOT traditional with our Holiday behaviors).

Well got a 4 string (3 singles and dual thin string) cigar box guitar so that will keep me occupied. I'm not sure how it should be tuned yet.
I'm sure the body is deep enough for a series upgrade.

It seems like dulcimer stringing, so maybe try a dulcimer tuning; one of the most common is 1st D below middle C, A the same, and the paired course 1st D above middle C.
