Gordon Lightfoot passed away today, aged 84 years.  No cause was immediately given.

On my Mt. Rushmore of Troubadours. What a songwriting genius. So glad I got to see him perform.

This will be the hardest one for me. I’ve sung his songs for over 50 years. RIP. You were the best.

On the subject of lifes soundtracks; Summers of 1986 and 87... me and Sugarcubes wore out a cassette tape of Gord's Gold on many a Southwest Virginia backroad. Carefree Highway, indeed... had no idea what was about to hit us. 16 and 17 turned into 18 and 19.

Summers of 1986 and 87.........16 and 17 turned into 18 and 19.

Ya hadda goan say that, didn't ya Greg?  I now know that I am (just barely, had I been more precocious) old enough to be your father...........

Peter (who needs nothing else to pile even perceived years on right now, thank you very much)
