RIP Al Jaffee - What, Me Worry?
« on: April 11, 2023, 07:04:01 AM »
The ole Fold-In Cartoonist for MAD Magazine made it to 102!  Another of our childhood icons gone.

102!
He was a big part of my childhood, those fold-ins are iconic.  Best wishes to his friends and family.

I just saw this news, came here to post it, and found this thread.  As I imagined, I’m not the only one around here who grew up with Mad Magazine.    The back cover fold-ins were the first thing I checked out with each issue.   I still remember well the one where LBJ is showing off his scar.  When folded, it was a pic of Vietnam.   102?  Pretty good run!

May the Four Winds Blow You Safely Home.

We (at least we of your children's generation) shall miss you greatly, Mr. Jaffee.
