Finish Sealer Suggestions

I have a small chip in a bass that I sanded the wood smooth and would like to now seal it.  Can anyone suggest a type of brush on finish sealer that I should use?  Just a small area about the width of your thumb.  Thanks!

I like Deft. It's probably not possible/legal for me to send you even just a tiny quantity, in like a sample vial through the mail, Rob. I keep a quart can in the shop, but I bet you can buy it in a pint can locally up there.
