[SOLD] For Sale 2003 5-string Triple Omega Buckeye Burl top
« on: February 11, 2022, 12:37:24 PM »
Greetings all,
Well, it's that time in life to say thank you to the fantastic Alembic family and to announce my retirement at age 61, both professionally and musically. I have sold my business and my desire is for my beloved Alembic to find a good home. Please see this thread from 2003 when I took delivery from Bass Central...

And a photo from 2016 when we danced together (scroll down)...

I am the original owner and she sat in her case for a few years after my band broke up in 2004. She had light use from 2008 to 2012, then regular use from 2013 to 2019 (3-4 gigs/month). She is in excellent condition, I would say 9 out of 10 with a few very small dings (hard to see) and minor fret wear. The Alembic custom case has a few small nicks in the Tolex from the road but nothing major. I have all of the case candy that accompanied her from Santa Rosa. She has been well cared for.
The quote generator has been out of service for awhile, but perusing the basic pricing page here leads me to believe that she would list for about $21K from the factory in 2022. She is a 5-string Signature Standard with Triple Omega body style, Buckeye Burl top wood and Anniversary electronics. Mahogany body with brass backplate, Maple neck with 3 Purpleheart laminates, gold Schaller strap locks replaced about 4 years ago and gorgeous THG Buckeye Burl custom knobs. Weight is 11 lbs, 34" scale with no neck dive, and a black 4' wide Alembic strap is included (very comfortable).
Asking $8,000.00 plus shipping to the US only; price is negotiable but no trades, please. Paypal, Visa/MC/Amex ok. I would love for her to go to a club member so I'm posting here before going to Reverb or Ebay, so shoot me an email to Alembic5 'at' att.net with any questions of offers.
Many thanks,
Chris in Jersey

Correction: there is 'much' money to be made above the fifth fret....

After further review, my pricing may have been a bit aggressive (and I am a motivated seller), so $6,800.00 may be a more reasonable number right now. Serious offers seriously considered....

Hey, thanks Rob!

I am sad to see her go but also happy to announce that my beautiful girl is going to a fellow Club member.
Thanks to all for your interest; I'm proud to be a member of this great fraternity of talented musicians and, more importantly, good people.

Cheers,
Chris
