Alembic Persuader 86 has found a new home
« on: November 18, 2021, 07:01:45 AM »
Recently visited my local music store and was surprised to see this in there, not sure whether i've seen another Alembic in the flesh beforehand. Gave it a play and just had to have it. The pick-ups have been swapped for passive seymour duncans at some point. The last owner had apparently kept it under his bed for the past 15 years as it was too nice to play for punk gigs. It's not mint but it's decent, has anyone else had one with the headstock in the formation? can't find another one online like it.. and tbf it sound's really nice was the passive pickups, but would love to hear an unmodified one.
Does anyone know if this is the original case?

Monty,
Welcome to the camp.   Beautiful bass there.  I know very little about Persuaders and headstock variety.   Your case looks like my Distillate’s except I have blue ‘fur’.  Post a picture of the ‘guts’.   Someone here may be able to direct you towards installing the original electronics (which will blow your mind).

That looks like the Vector body shape which uses the same head shape as the Elan. Vector's aren't a very common body style. You have a nice looking bass there. As was stated a shot of the electronics will let us know how far you would need to go to restore the bass should you wish to do so.
