dear keeper of all Alembic family information and genealogy.
do you have anything about Essence # C8KL3897 model KLB4 in coco bolo?
nice guitar with a sustain block, unusual?
glad it's there!

thanks, when you can

Can you confirm the serial the number as 08K13897? That would be more in line with how these numbers get assigned.

thanks Adrian it is most likely as you say, 08K13897, a little bit of a (mis)judgement call on my part.
thanks for catching that!

Oh OK! Since it had a new thread, I pulled it with the rest of the files

top: Coco Bolo
accent: Maple laminate and Purpleheart pinstripe
body: Mahogany
neck: 3-poece Maple with 2 Walnut pinstripes
scale: 34" long
fingerboard: Ebony
peghead: Orion 4
pickups: MXY4
controls: volume, pan, filter, mono output
tailpiece: bird
originally made for: Aplicaciones Acousticas Musicales, Canary Islands
birthday: July 15, 2008

So the bird tailpiece is custom for this model, but the bridgeblock is not marked yes or no - so did you determine if the bass has a block?

Thanks again Mica 🌻
Yes I'm totally stoked it does have the brass sustain block.
Having another Essence without the block I can attest personally that notes quite definitely do continue (sustain) longer with it than without it.
Notes in general have a richer, fuller presentation too, quite apart from sustain.
Brilliant idea you guys.
Posted a photo in the new build request (sorry now redundant) it's a beautiful guitar.

Many many thanks!
