R.I.P. Mary Ann - Your 3 Hour Tour Has Come To An End
« on: December 30, 2020, 01:57:09 PM »
With all we hear about Jeannie/Ms. Eden around here, I thought it appropriate to acknowledge the passing of someone who played a similar role in my youth.  Ginger may have been "glamorous", but I had the hots for Mary Ann.  AKA Dawn Wells has passed away at 82 from Covid.  2020 sux!

That's too bad.  :-[  I loved that show too, and her character as well.

Its fitting, and unsurprising that Barbara put a condolence post up today as well. It's a little depressing to realize the last few of her posts have been eulogizing lost friends and acquaintances. Chuck Yeager, Charley Pride, now Dawn. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=3875666819131920&id=151281694903803&__tn__=%2As%2As-R

The classic question "Ginger or Mary Ann?" never required any thought from me.  I'll miss you, Dawn!

I also instantly thought of WKRP Jan.  But then I am also one of those guys who has a crush on girl-next-door Jan from the Toyota ads. You gotta wonder how far a small boat in Hawaii could get in a 1.5 hour out from the harbor tour! Of course, there was that guy who spent months on his de-masted sailboat off the California coast a while back. Here it is a new year and I am rambling! Jeez, stuck at home too long.
