2004 Alembic Essence Cocobolo
« on: October 17, 2020, 04:35:59 AM »
Putting up this gorgeous 2004 Alembic Essence, featuring an amazing cocobolo top, ebony fretboard, and mahogany body. Of note: dual truss rod/neck thru, weighted brass bridge, side LEDs in red, and all original Alembic electronics/Q-switch. Purchased this a few months back on Reverb from the original owner. My first Alembic, and while it plays and sounds like a dream, I still just prefer a P-bass tone in the setting I’m using 4 string basses. Came to me in its original hard case. Not sure if the previous owner was a smoker or if it just spent some time in smokey bars, but there was a definite hint of that when I opened the case. Not overwhelming, but too much for me. I purchased the Gator gig bag (shown in pics) new from Sweetwater for it, and after wiping it down and getting it out of that case, the smell is no longer noticeable. I can ship in either, but I’d highly recommend the gig bag. Ding at the top of the headstock, and a couple around the plate on the back, all shown. Feel free to hit me with any questions. $75 shipped in the US. With these specs this would be close to $10K new!
