Welcome to the Club, fellow Persuader player here. If you post a picture of the electronics cavity we might be able to tell you easily if they have been modified.

I do know of one Persuader out there that sold recently (but it was an '85 I think) that definitely had its electronics swapped out for aftermarket parts. It still had its original pickups though. Doesn't sound like yours.
