One of the two actual musicians in the Monkees - a real bass player. I just can't get used to all these people I grew up with dying.
He's taken the last train to Clarksville.

I always identified with Peter, not because he was the bass player but because he was kinda goofy. I think Peter Tork, among many other accomplishments, maybe saved Stephen Stills to become a 'real' rock star. RIP Peter.

Tork wrote about being diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma in his tongue for the Washington Post in 2009.
I watched the show all the time as a little kid. My older sisters had a bunch of their 45s. I didn't know what a bass guitar was back then, but I always liked Peter. Goofy but still kinda cool. Rest in peace man!
