Alembic motorcycle.
« on: March 11, 2019, 05:36:06 AM »
so I had this strange dream the other night...

I had lent my Alembic to a guy and he told me where he put it, it wasn’t clear exactly where it was but I had to travel some distance to an old abandoned factory to find it.  And there it was resting against a wall - but it was an Alembic motorcycle (really more of a motorized bicycle, ala the very early inception of motorcycles). It was beautiful, it had zebrawood accents all over it, kind of a steampunk looking thing and the zebrawood grain matched my Distillate.

Maybe a value added event for scrap pieces of wood - custom rides!

No zebrawood on this one...

The only thing that stays the same is change.

oh I want that bike!

if ya wanna check out something truly amazing though, check out flashbackfab.com, where my friend Paul Brodie (the bicycle guy) makes total replicas of the 1919 OHC excelsior racer motorcycle; the amazing thing is that no originals exist so the whole thing was re-engineered from photos!

they are over 140k US each, so sadly I'll never own one...

Funny.  Those Lister Engines were standard on Sea-going Ships for Lifeboat propulsion.  I spent Many years maintaining those indestructible motors!  That sound brought me back to my seagoing days.....we used to do maintenance on them in the tropics.....it was a treat to get out of that dark hot engine room and go out on deck to hang out in the lifeboats and tinker with the Listers.....
Where are we going...and why am I in this Handbasket?
