Greetings from Croatia
« on: August 31, 2018, 05:44:27 AM »
Hi everybody, I've been on forum for a few months now, have to say that first Alembic that I got was here on this forum.
I'm a bass player from Croatia, only play bass for my living, just recently I fall in love with Alembics. Always wanted to have one but I was hard to get one in my country.

But finally I got one.

Here it is:
Alembic Series 1 (1980)
top: Bubinga
body: Mahogany
back: Bubinga
neck: Maple and Purpleheart
scale: 34" long
fingerboard: Ebony
inlays: mother of pearl
pickups: SC+HX
controls: "Series I" volume x2, filter x2, 3-position Q-switch x2, pickup selector switch, 1/4" and 5-pin stereo outputs
birthday: April 30, 1980

here is also a small review that it did for this bass.
I did a review only because I couldn't find a proper one for series 1 when I tried to buy one blindly.

Thanks and see you around the forum! :)

Goran

The bass player’s function, along with the drums, is to be the engine that drives the car… everything else is merely colours.

Hey Goran,

That's a very nice bass, congratulations.  And also a fine video.  Thanks for posting that simple explanation and demo of the filter circuits.  Great stuff.

I also like how your 5-pin neutrik cable connector has been set at a 45 degree angle to run the cable straight through the omega cut.  That's a neat idea for strain relief.

Nice to have Alembic represented in Zagreb!  We hope you enjoy that axe and play it all over the place.
