Has it really been 37 years?  I still remember where I was and how I heard.  Imagine all the music we could have enjoyed all these years?  Such a sad waste.

Acoustic1; #9 Dream is a beautiful recording.  Thanks.

Bill; yes, 37 years.  He helped bring us to where we are now; the torch was passed to us, as we in turn give to those who build on what we do.

Dave, I certainly don't feel worthy of holding Lennon's torch - perhaps, maybe, his guitar pick?  Even that would be an honor!

      :)

Even here in this rural mountain cove in Western North Carolina, the warmth of that flame, passing through you, is felt.

Bill,

You mentioned John's guitar pick,

John Lennon collectibles top most-expensive lists!!!

It’s intriguing why John Lennon collectibles top most-expensive lists. Perhaps they are extremely rare, perhaps his untimely death at the hands of a deranged fan...Lennon’s psychedelic Rolls is till date the most-expensive rock memorabilia. In 1985, Canadian entrepreneur Jimmy Pattison bid $2.29 mn for it. Lennon’s white Steinway piano fetched a similar price at an auction in 2000. George Michael paid $2.1 mn for the instrument on which Lennon had composed “Imagine”.

In 2010, an unidentified American collector bid $1.2 mn for the handwritten lyrics of “A Day in the Life”. Hours before he was shot dead in 1980, Lennon had autographed a copy of the album Double Fantasy for the killer Mark Chapman. In 1999 this album was sold for $150,000. In 2010 an auction site had put up the album for sale with a base price of $850,000.
