Selling a Tribute or Further
« on: May 03, 2017, 08:24:12 AM »
Hi all,
I'm thinking of parting ways with some inventory and given I've never sold before wanted to ask what thoughts are on best practices for selling a pre-owned Alembic instrument.  Is it best to start on the board here?  Obviously want it to go to the most appreciative player possible.  I see some stuff on reverb.com but have no experience with that site.  Would welcome any feedback.  Thanks so much.

Definitely start here. If that doesn't work, Reverb is way better than Ebay, in my observation you'll get very similar prices for your item, Reverb's fees are way lower, overall policies much less Big Brother-ish.

+1 on reverb.com.  I have a store there and have had nothing but good experiences.  They make it very easy for a first time seller.  Also, it isn't an auction site, so you don't have to worry about no one bidding and your guitar or bass selling for less than you want.  You can either just list it at a fixed price, or list an asking price while entertaining offers.  Unlike eBay, if you don't like the offer, you can just reject it or counter-offer.  When you sell, they will offer you a discounted shipping rate with UPS and let you download the shipping label.
