I know that place!  :D  The earliest American roots of our family were put down not far from there.

I've had a delightful time the past few days. I worked part of a shift both Thursday and Friday, caught up on my yardwork. (only bad thing about living at the edge of the 1000 acre woods - LEAVES!) Also made a totally awesome batch of cream cheese stuffed jalapeños, cleaned up my shop, and prepared my well house and basement for Winter. In between all that, I played some bass... it seemed weird not to have a gig to get to.

I'm ready to go back to work now. ;D

No we don't have to drive very far to get to a state park with nice trails. Besides Medoc Mtn we are about the same distance to Morrow Mountain State Park which has a good variety of hiking trails. Unfortunately this year we  haven't had a lot of color in the trees around the house. I think it is because we didn't have an early cold snap to bring them out. Of course it hasn't stopped them from falling so tomorrow they get moved from the lawn to the natural areas and compost pile. Then again you don't have to worry if there are reservations available at the right time to go up to the mountains to see the colors change. Rene has a several years left to retirement and who knows we might not have to think about that either.

I hope you all had a great one. I am thankful to be a part of this wonderful community. You have all enriched my life in ways tangible and not, and I don't take that for granted.

Peace and love,
John
