Berkeley Shakedown Street Festival 2016
« on: September 11, 2016, 01:50:27 PM »
This year's annual Berkeley Shakedown Street Festival will be held on Saturday September 17 and Sunday September 18th at Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Center Park. Admission is free for this all-ages family style event and proceeds from beer sales and vending will benefit the Seva Foundation. There will be a strong Alembic presence this year. In addition to Alembic instruments being played during Easy Wind's, Achilles Wheel's and CRYPTICAL'S sets on Sunday Alembic/Mica will be sharing a booth with Rosie McGee. Good opportunity to pick up an extra Alembic t-shirt (or two) and I am pretty sure Mica will have some instruments on display, too. The Saturday night after party at the UC Berkeley Theater will be headlined by the John Kadlecik Band. John should be playing his Alembic guitar so another opportunity to hear some Alembic magic, tickets available through the UC Berkeley Theater box office.

CRYPTICAL and Friends will be closing out the festival on Sunday evening with "Betty's Choice" a two and a half hour birthday tribute to Betty Cantor-Jackson. All the tunes we will be playing were selected by Betty and we are psyched to help celebrate her birthday. Joining CRYPTICAL for this special event will be Stu Allen, Dave Hebert and Sunshine Becker.

Saturday is Koala Tea at 1pm, Wake Of The Dead at 3pm, Grateful Jazz at 5pm and A-Bear's Choice at 7pm

Sunday schedule is Easy Wind at 12pm, Hardly Deadly at 1:30pm, TV Mike & The Scarecrowes at 3pm, Achilles Wheel at 4:30pm and CRYPTICAL & Friends at 6:30pm.
