Yesterday I met up with a guitar player friend who is a superb player and has an enviable collection of high end boutique guitars. Anyway I invited him over to check out my guitars, I don't have many actually, but he went through them all including my alembic guitars. He has no knowledge of alembic and when he played my series I dragon, the first thing he said was, "The sound of this guitar reminds me of The Grateful Dead" which I was pretty impressed with.
Anyway his verdict was that he loved the sound but if he was to buy one off me he would go for the alembicised strat as he preferred the sound of the strat with alembic activators and tone controls overall. For feel he likes a thicker neck on his guitars than I do so that strat is more like he is used to than the alembic guitars.
