Beautiful bass.

This has been listed a long time in various forums and sites. If I remember correctly it started off an extremely high price and has been inching ever lower year by year. I think the original listing was above the initial Reverb price of $12,000.  I seem to remember the original listing indicated it was being sold by someone's estate but I might be wrong about that.

Pretty sure it was Craigslist where I saw a recent listing for this bass with a $10,000 asking price but it may have been eBay. Regardless I fully expected the price to drop a lot before it is eventually sold. Really nice looking bass.

Yeah...this one's been listed for a very long time. It's about time they got a little more realistic on the price. Still needs to come down more, IMHO. I don't think what custom inlay work there is can justify the current asking price. After all, this isn't a Series instrument we're talking about.

I remember reading the write up about this bass when it was a Featured Custom. One of my favorite stories.

Figured I would add a note to the site, as I recently purchased this bass on reverb.  It is a beautiful bass, incredibly well balanced and was virtually unplayed with almost no fret wear.  Virtually flawless with a small ding at the binding which you really have to look for to see.
I bought it (no where near those original prices previously listed) from the wife who spent hours planning this bass for her husband who has since passed away. It's touching to think of the thought, care and time she took to do something special for her husbands 50th Birthday. I made sure I let her know how much I appreciate the story, and that I will take great care of this fine instrument.  I hope her husband is smiling from above knowing this instrument will be loved.

Congratulations & Compliments. I'm glad to hear that Starry Night has gone to someone who will appreciate it. I hope the same fate for my Alembics one day.

It was always one of my favorite Featured Custom stories.
