Does anybody know the F-2B preamp (tube) plate voltages?

Just went and asked dad, B+ voltage is a little above 300V and at the plate it's in the neighborhood of 200V

Sorry for the slightly OT question. I have a F-2B
that I've been using for my Chapman Stick. I love the sound, but recently have aquired a HUM in channel B and mono output. No unusal noise from channel A. I did the usual diagnostics (cables, etc.). Has anyone else had this problem?
Are repairs needed or is there a fix I can do?

Hi Christopher,
I also use my F-2B with my Chapman Stick but have no problem with hum. So there's something wrong with yours.
BTW: I love the sound too.

forgive me by coming late but I really want to welcome you in this low-sided club. Well ...I presume a Chapman stick is to play bass and not to play honkbal (like someone did over here with a Steinberger bass ...or was that tennis?!??!).
Well .. I've seen such a stick once but for one or another reason it seems like a magic-trick to me. It has to do with piano-playing and bass playing? No?
So feel free ...explain ...in plain english svp.

Ps : don't be afraid ...there are some more welcomers on the way. Some of them are called Paul, some are pretending to call that way, but that's a long and sad story. So just be friendly to them ok? LOL

Did you try swapping the tubes to see if the problem moved with the tube? If your tubes are 3-5 year old Chinese or Russian ones, consider replacing them. If they're older than that, definitely replace them. If you don't want to spring for NOS, JJs should sound good at popular prices.

I'm not on a computer with audio facilities now but I'll check at home.
Anyway: it seems fun to try!
But isn't it an instrument a high theoretical knowledge of music is expected? Seen the fact that you mix soloing and harmonics?

IMHO you have to learn a new instrument. Interdependence by hands like a good piano player is useful, but with the tapping technique and melody side tuning in 4ths but the bass in 5ths (as the standard tuning is) it's hard in the begining and takes a lot of time to get familar with this beast. And the correct setup of the instrument is very important.

Thanks for all the help from everyone. I swaped the tubes and the hum followed the tube to channel A. It looks like it's time to replace them. Thanks to xlrogue6 for the tube suggestions. Are there any other opinions? Being new to buying tubes, I am not familiar with the different manufacturers. Thanks again to everyone.
