Sound samples
« on: April 26, 2004, 02:18:39 AM »
hi

ok i am no computer wizz by any means but do you not think it would be cool if we could post sound samples of our guitars and basses on this web site. i mean it is often said that someone gets a new bass or guitars everyone says they would love to hear it

this would also help when thinking about which top wood woould be good and also what different models are capable of so alembic could use it as part of their products archive.

i realise the people at alembic are so very very busy and dont now if that is possible i just think it would be cool to be able to both c and hear other peoples basses and guitars

p.s i finally took some pictures of jazmine my epic so expect to see some pictures before the end of the week

Andrew; one downside I can think of is that audio files are generally pretty large, and it may be the case that Alembic's server might not be able to handle the uploading, storage, and downloading of a lot of large audio files.  I don't know; I'm just kind of posting the first thought that comes to mind.  An alternative would be to post sound files to other servers and just provide a link.

mp3 files would work well.  everybody should do the recording with no eq direct into the computer, so that the playing (no pun intended) field is level.  then we could all reamp them through our own systems for comparison.
