I have just joined another band(total = 4)
The ages are me(52), singer and harmonica(48),guitarist(34) and drummer..wait for it..17(who looks like a 13 year old but can he play!!!)
Anyway, I played this stuff many many years ago when I first started out and after a while I became very bored with it, three chords, same arpeggio runs and vowed never ever to do it again.
Well it is amazing how so many years of bass education has done. The band are very open minded so we do our own arrangements on some classic r'n'b/blues/rock'n'roll tunes and it sounds great.
Putting added chords extensions(please note John Judge!) and playing mini solos whilst the guitar player does his thing fills the sound out to the point of power quartet meet delta blues. Purists may scoff and criticise but boy it is is fun and it is right in the pocket.
