Remembering RFK
« on: June 05, 2008, 07:16:07 AM »
i cant believe that 40 yrs has gone by since RFK was  assassinated. I just watched archived video of the night and it still stings like hell. As a small 12yr old i had the chance to see him while he ran for ny senator. After living through jfk,mlk and then rfk  my view of the world changed forever and my naivet?
was gone. i always felt rfk was the best of the Kennedy's. i wonder where the world  would be today if he had won the election. Once the convention started in Chicago and the events that unraveled there i began to wonder what happened to the country i was taught about in school.
Here we are 40yrs later again in a war nobody wants, civil liberites being whacked by our president, a world warming to the point of no return, oil companies making billions in profit, genocide in africa, food costs that are rising  because of the b.s. about ethanol being an alternative fuel, the economy in the toilet, the chinese trying to kill our kids with lead based painted toys, and our pets with tainted pet food.
What the hell happened to decency, honesty and love for one another? What happened to doing the right thing?
somethings wrong when an ad gets pulled because someone decided rachel ray;s scarf somehow looked like yasir Arafat's kafaya. Someone recently sued the norwalk aquarium here in ct because their kid stepped in dogshit outside the aquarium and ruined the sneaker and actually got airtime on the local news. heck we just found standing water when i was a kid and sloshed it off. Today? we sue....

Jeff; go find a quiet place in the woods, and just sit and breath for a while.  Then come back and work for the change you want to see in the world.
