The engineer who tracked the guitar parts for The Wall told me that's what they used (the guitar version), although they also had mics on Gilmour's amps in the cartage hall (they didn't use those mic tracks). We ended up going the same route, Marshalls in the cartage hall and a DI to the Rockman, and liked the Rockman sound better. This was at Producer's Workshop in L.A., btw, not some backwater home studio...
