Looking for Series I or II 5-string
« on: July 13, 2006, 08:20:53 PM »
Hey Gang,

Sugject line says it all. I don't know how many of these come up used, so I'm not too particular about woods and all.

Thanks in advance,

M

It's probably obvious, but how have you guys searched for used Alembics? This site is good. I've also checked the inventory of the dealers mentioned on Alembic's site. How else have you done it?

I'm tempted to pick up a Series I 4 string (b/c they do seem to be around), but I do think I'd prefer to have a 5, and I don't think I'll have the chance to own more than one Alembic.

Thanks in advance,

M

5-strings just don't come up for sale nearly as often as 4-strings.  So a good bit of patience and diligence is required.

I'm now thinking that a 4 string Series I or II would be the ticket. I don't use the 5th string that often, and there's an awful lot of great bassists who only play 4.

Thanks,
