I don't know about the Made in Canada part (im pretty sure they're all made in the far east & imported by Eric Bergquist in CA),... I bought two of them last year. There was a lawsuit regarding the headstock on a run of basses they did, and they had to liquidate them CHEAP.... I bought a 7 string ash bass and a walnut 6'er. I am happy with the build on both basses~ good cost/quality ratio, but by no means anywhere near an Alembic.
