That's a really nice bass. If I didn't just buy my BB I'd be really tempted to put in a bid. I wonder what the sale price will be or if it will even sell.
A Classico was the first Alembic I really wanted. I once emailed Mica about a demo model that they had on the site. But even the discounted price was too much then.
I've never heard one played or have known anyone who owned one. My bass teacher in DE was a big Alembic fan. He sold me my first Alembic and got me hooked on them. However, he preferred the sound of the NS-design EUB to the Classico.
No other EUB compares in beauty to the Classico. Well, maybe the A-bass EUB comes close (

And I would consider getting an EUB before a doghouse. An EUB is much easier to play than an acoustic and much easier to adjust to from an electric. The action on an EUB is better and (in most cases - though not with the Classico) you don't need to play in thumb position on the upper part of the fretboard. In most cases, you need to amplify an acoustic to be heard anyway. And with an EUB you don't need to worry about feedback.
