Not odd at all, I've seen the name in that position on plenty of 5 string cone pegheads. The A tuner kind of gets in the way. Another variation has the logo with or without the script just above the nut. My 88 Spoiler 4 with 'sharp cone' headstock also has logo and script just above the nut.
The top looks a lot like bubinga.
