Series I 1977-744 for sale
« on: June 13, 2007, 10:54:27 AM »
I have a beautiful series I bass for sale, I would like to offer it here first before going the Ebay or Craig's list route. It is a long scale (34) walnut top serial #744 built in 77, it comes with the active box and DIN cables. I am asking for offers over $3800. I can post or email more pics as needed
Thanks
Jay Silas

Welcome to the board, Jay. Does it come with a case and if so, what kind?

Hi 57basstra,
The case looks like every Alembic case I've seen, that is, grey with metal trim flight case style with black interior. I will try to post pics if I can figure out how to compress them enough to fit the 150k limit here.

I agree on the wood.  Beautiful either way.

Does it have LEDs?

Flight cases are not standard Alembic issue ? having one is a big plus, I'd say.

Hey everyone,
I was not the original owner, when I bought it, I was told that it was walnut, I was too exited to question it. When I looked at Alembic's wood selection page, it seemed closer to a flamey or quilted top walnut but 30 years of aging may also bring out some of the lighter tones I guess.
Sorry no LEDs. I've only seen a handful of Alembics live (series IIs and Stanley Clarkes) and they all had the same case I have, so perhaps that's why I assumed all Alembics had the same case.

Shedua. It's seen on many Wal basses.

I did a search on it on this site and it comes up as Schedua (sp?) from a previous owner.
