No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!!!
Sorry, I had to.
As I'm unlikely to be buying anything besides diapers and formula for the forseeable future, or at least until my wife earns her Master's, my offer to give the heads-up on any really great deals stands. You might be surprised what people will sell for almost nothing, and what you would be willing to forego to get them. ;)
And of course, you're welcome to try out the Big 6. I actually expect to be in Ohio for a family reunion this summer, unless I misunderstood the plan.

Wow! Haven't seen that reference for a while!

Chris,

I wasn't trying to be The Grand Inquisitor. It's just that I think we've all let an instrument go and then regretted it later. In this case you're considering getting rid of an instrument that would be difficult, if not impossible, to replace. If it was swapping your 4-string for another 4-string, that would be one thing. But I have heard from many people that have tried 5 and 6-string instruments and really not liked more than 4 strings.

When I got my first cheap 5-string, I didn't even consider trading one of my 4-strings. I was just too cheap to spend a lot of money on a 5-string and then find I didn't like it!

So our opinions are simply offering alternatives trying to help you avoid a SERIOUS case of buyer's remorse.

Only trying to help - never judging others.

If someone has a Tyler bass that they would be willing to trade, I would strongly consider that as well.

The Tune kingbass 5 string is In Seattle Wa, USA. A nice bass, and I got a hand full of cash.

How would the sound of this beauty be compared to my 1997 Orion 5?

Whoever ends up with this bass is going to be 1 lucky person. That is one of the nicer series basses I have seen in a while.

This bass is no longer on the market.

Sorry to tempt everyone, but I had it repaired today, and it rectified all of the issues I was having with it. There's no way I'd sell or trade it now.
