Of course, I talked to John first, but as Oliver pointed out, he is interested in general, but cannot afford to get the bass back within the next few weeks. Maybe he will chime in here very soon...
I will contact Rami within the next days, thank you for the input, Toby.
Graeme, I bought the bass for $10,000 in 2005 and paid 8,500 Euro at an FX-rate of 1:1,17. Plus, I paid duties and import tax, so the total cost was above 10,000 Euro. That should give you a clue BUT: I am not trying to make a deal with this bass. Mike posted above that it is basically a Series I fretless and a Series I 8string fretted, but he forgot about the crazy stunning fretboard inlay with the skeletons fighting a dragon to save a woman
It may be worth the price of a Series I bass plus a little more for one person, it was definately worth the price that I paid, for me anyway, it maybe worth a whole lot more for John or another person...
We have read it in several threads about values of our guitars (hey, this was for you, Bill ) and basses, and I guess it really sums it up:
The bass you are willing and able to get is worth the amount of money that you are willing and able to pay.
Have a good night everybody,
hope to hear or read from you soon,
your Christian
