I am a native Clevelander, and I'm currently visiting friends and family there. I've never been to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, so today I went down there and took the tour, so to speak. In the main lobby, I found pictures of some of Jerry Garcia's guitars. Now, I'm not a Deadhead, but I figured those here would find these pictures interesting. There were also several other Alembics at the Hall (Jason Newstead's custom Series II Spoiler, and also John Paul Jones' custom Triple O Series II - unfortunately, they are in a part of the museum where no photos are allowed). BTW, didn't Alembic make the Tribute, which was later modified by Irwin? I'm sure I could do a search here in the club for the info, but just thought I'd ask. Oh, BTW, they also have Jack Casady's Alembic modified Guild Starfire with the aluminum plate underneath the top. Awesome.

Did you see John Cipollina's self configured rig with the high frequency trumpet horns and customized Gibson SG ?

Wolf was Alembic 72-25 (or 73-25 - does anyone know?), Alan. Irwin modified it pretty much continuously from birth on, and later claimed it as his work; the Furthur is its progeny. Rosebud & Tiger were Irwin originals, and the inspriation for the Tribute.

I don't remember a specific Alembic serial number ever attributed to Wolf before. 25 does seem about right and would be in either '72 or '73. Irwin has claimed he started it in May, '72, and delivered it to Jerry in May of '73. He also has identified it as his serial # 007. (Maybe Irwin's # 006 was a Fender? lol). What's your source for # 25?

They did make their music, now they rest and get admired. The visit to this place is well worth it. Not only Alembics, but Rick James' White Rickenbacker - just think about the stories it could tell!

Bill, my source is the one & only Ms. Mica Wickersham Thomas, about 9 posts down in this thread. Now if someone could just confirm or deny my suspicion that Mission Control was 72-08..........
