Mica, Thanks for the updated pictures and I did get my dimmers hooked up on the Stanley..LOOKS GREAT!! The bass looks fantastic but I have a question..Are the side dots silver they look white and they don't look centered between the frets. Is that where you are putting the side dots now?

mica

The side dots on fretless basses are placed near to where you place your finger, adjacent to the sideline. The dots are sterling silver on your bass. Glad the dimmer worked out ok on your Stanley bass.

Dave started this thread indicating you had a question about the strings. Was that ever resolved?

john_o

Thanks for clarifing the dots couldn't quite tell in the picture. Don't worry about the stings I will put chromes on it when it gets here. Can't wait to see it at the end of the month.

mica

What gauges are you planning on using?

john_o

Medium Light .050 to .100 chrome D'Addario

Hi, Just got the bass today and it is beautiful and plays great..but I need to know how to maintain the oil finish?

Bradley Young

John,

I'll let Mica give a more definitive answer, but when I asked the same question, the answer was:

You don't.

They use a polymerized oil finish, and it does not require maintenance.
