The main difference between Distillate controls and Elan Plus is that the Distillate has a pickup selector switch where the Elan Plus has a pan control.  The pan control would give you a range of tonal options from all Bridge through to all Neck, where the selector switch would give you just three options, Bridge, Neck, and Both.  Of course combined with the Filter, Q switch, and Bass and Treble cut/boost switches, the Distillate already has a wide range of tonal choices; but the Elan Plus's pan control expands that range much further.

I take what you're saying to mean the sonic differences for the two models are basically the same except for control/contour?

I think you'll love the Alembic pickups and electronics in that bass.  Let us know what you decide to do.

Thanks Dave - Adriaan also addressed a similar question (and reaffirmed my thoughts)on Distillate vs. Europa which seems to be the sames as the Elan Plus and Rogues???
