During the Holidays Bill, Harry, and I got together to celebrate with our three knobby Alembics. Four if you include both headstocks on Harry's doubleneck. So, I decided to show off our adventure and see who else has a knobby or two floating around. I am hoping Michael, DFung and Hartmut post some pic's. So, lets see em. I will get us started.

Here's a picture of my fretless knobby Epic being played by club member Speicky at the Chicago gathering in 2009 at Bagend:

Your wish is my command! Eiji, I think this is the bass that you want. It was my first Alembic and it's just perfect.

And, to keep things balanced, here's an old MTD that I have which has an "anti-knob" headstock:

I realized I have a picture of the back of my 8-string headstock. It has a detail that screams Alembic!. The top two tuning heads are carefully placed just the right distance apart so they share a single mounting screw!

That sure doesn't happen by accident! There's only a million subtle details on an instrument like this, so nailing this is really amazing. There's a command of the craft that's just out of this world.
