It was great to hear him say he didn't think it was that heavy!
-
Come on Harry.....it's not nice to tease us with just one picture! That's like laying one Lays potato chip out & everyone knows that No one can eat just one! Feed my jealousy!!! :-)
-
The first thing that I saw when I showed up were nice folks hanging out with Lizards! (Western Fence Swift)(http://club.alembic.com/Images/65124/129432.jpg)
-
Cool pic Wolf! Was that a pet or one of the local residents?
-
A Local resident Lizard hanging out to see what was going on !

Here's the most complete shot I got:

Next , these two Gentleman greeted me(http://club.alembic.com/Images/65124/129439.jpg)
-
Looks like a very nice cross section of offspring from the Mothership along with a couple of aliens! I don't see a 4 string SCSD, so I wish I could have contributed mine to this amazing mix......maybe next year!
-
Wolf, it looks like you were in VERY good company!
-
Just created a gallery of pics on facebook.
If you're not one of my facebook friends, here's a public link to the pics:

If you see your instrument and want to add info, please feel free. Ditto if you are in one of the photos and I didn't mention your name (I apologize in advance).
I had a total blast. Wonderful players, instruments, music, hospitality and conversation. Thanks to the Wickershams and our gracious hosts in Canyon.
Hope to see you all again, next year!

Great pics Sam; I was thinking of you guys all day yesterday.

Just a quick shout out to say that it was once again a spectacular time, and I will try to get my pics up this week, but my week is really slammed, so it may BE a week...
-
Great shots, thanks for sharing!
-
Sam - Love the picture shown here.
Who was taking the picture of the headstocks from the same perspective?
Can they please post it?
-
Hey, Pauldo!
Check out Jazzyvee's photos on Notstrictlyjazz, his facebook page. Jazzy, can you post the link here for the Club to check out?

Wolf, I missed the lizards this year!
Here's a shot of Wolf's Series I on the left, Dave's red bass in front (which sounded AMAZING as usual), my doubleneck Series I and Stanley Clarke 5-string lurking behind:

Jealous as Hell just about sums up how I'm feeling looking at these photos. I'm really glad you all had such a good time. And as for Bill's t'shirt, I hope he means in reverse order - Ringo was by far the coolest beatle :-)
Graeme
-
Mmmm.... M&Ms and trail mix...
It looks like you folks had another excellent time. That is definitely a cool room, with the look of a ski or hunting lodge.
Jacko hit it straight-on - jealous as hell
I'll just keep thumpin' away here in the Chicago-land.
Mike

Graeme:
The back of the shirt reads keepringohealthy.com.
Mike:
You should try and come out for the next one. It was a blast.

Ah, another reason to contemplate relocating from one coast to the other... What great pictures! Happy to see so many 6'ers in the family photo!
-
Happy to see so many 6'ers in the family photo!
I think Bill has cornered the west coast market for those instruments with the really thin strings. ;-)
Keith

Here's a shot of Nate's Scorpion:
This one really caught my attention! It has a knobby headstock too!!!
-
There needs to be more pics of that Scorpion, from all angles! Gorgeous!
-
Agreed! Crazy thing is, look at the group shot up near the top of this thread - this bass is nestled in the BACK ROW third from the left!
-
I wonder how many gems never make it to the Club site.Wouldn't it be great if there was a site w/every Alembic ever made?At least the more special customs that aren't COTM.

Hi Guys!
That's what I'm talking about, a great time! So nice to see the 'Family' getting together again for another gathering!
Great people, players, instruments, music, location, host's and hospitality! Doesn't get much better than that!
Not to mention how nice it was to have met new people and just visiting with everyone there. Just too cool!
Thanks to everyone involved for making this come together and happen!
I had a blast and I'm already looking forward to next year!
See you there!
Best Regards,
Kimberly

Hey Everyone, I'm finally getting around to posting... I also wanted to say that it was great getting to hang out with you all at the gathering. This was my second one, and I'm really looking forward to the next one too! Harry, the AlFemBic is one sweet bass. I just might have to work on something like that myself. Here are more more pictures:

Major envy going on here
slawie

Don't be envious. I've been to a couple. They're not all they're cracked up to be.
Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!
Next year for sure.
-
Slawie, we'll save you a spot at the Texas Gathering!
-
Slawie , perhaps you will join us for Northern California VI ?
-
Wolf, I want to join you for Northern California VI! But for now it looks like we may have a Texas Gathering in July. We would love to have any & all from around the country & all over the world if you happen to be in Dallas this summer.
-
Rusty , Yes come on over to Northern California VI , I would love to go to the Texas Gathering as I have some family in Austin however I am anticipating that I will have my hands full with a vocational commitment this summer.
-
We still haven't set a date yet, but it's looking like sometime in July. I'll give you the date as soon as we firm it up. You are always welcome to stay at my house in Pasadena if you ever come to Texas!

A video slideshow from my factory tour and the California V meet in April 2012.

I am a San Francisco native currently serving in the Military. I will be home on leave for 3 weeks from my deployment during the Christmas/ New years holiday. I have a Custom bass being built right now that should be done by the time I get home. If any of you long time Alembic players would like to get together, I would really appreciate some pointers.

Lieutenant A.J. Weissmiller

-
I'd love to hear that fretless Series that Ken's playing on. Bet it's smooth a silk.
The newer Alembic's are flashier, but there's something cool about the old Alembic basses.
-
A.J., I'm always up for a gather! We'll figure something out when the date gets closer.
BTW, congrats on your upcoming Alembic!!!

Hieronymous, I will be back in town in the SF area on 20 Dec - 7 Jan I wanted to know if you or anybody else on this thread would be up to put together a gathering.
The days 28 or 29 of Dec look good for me. Nevertheless, my days are flexible
Anybody interested?
Once we get confirmations, we'll decide on the logistics that will be most convenient for participants.
-
A.J. - I'm sorry I never got back to you on this - I ended up being super-busy at the end of the year.
-
Which reminds me - isn't it time to think about Northern California VI???
-
It is. I will start the ball a-rollin' and report back with some possible dates.
-
Thank you Mica!!!
-
My Coco will be 2 years old next month & I'm still waiting for my first Texas Gathering! Sigh......
-
I'll be back in the states mid June, I hope to make it.
-
It's looking like May 11, but I'll firm things up shortly.
-
Darn, May 11 doesn't look good for me - there's a 95% chance I will be performing a wedding that afternoon/evening. But, if that's the only date, then I'll just have to attend in the morning! If I make it in the morning, that will be a first!
-
We gotta have Harry there!
(And his double neck too!)
Bill, tgo
-
Hi Guys!
I was hoping to make it down again, but I'm gigging on the 11th. If the 11th ends up not working I'm pretty much open.
Regards,
Kimberly
-
What about the 12th?
-
May 12 works great for me! The wedding was confirmed for May 11, but I could still make it in the morning. I've never been to one of these things for the whole day, but it would be nice to be there closer to the end rather than miss the end - especially as I'm usually one of the last to leave! ;)
-
Hi Mica!
Sorry to say that unfortunately the 12th wouldn't work either. A week earlier or a week later for my scheduling would be good. :|
Next time.
Bestest,
Kimberly
-
I've never been to one of these wonderful events. It looks like it would be a blast, and so far my schedule is open on the 11th. If the Starfire is ready by then it would make for an EXTREMELY fun and exciting way to pick it up :-)
-
Isn't May 12th Mother's Day?
(Second Sunday of May, so it should be...)
I can't on that day, my wife would take issue
