Just a quick hello to everyone ,I have been using a 76 series one for many years - still the best bass I have ever had and I have played & owned a lot of basses - I work in the industry for one of the largest instrument manufactures so I see a lot of gear - my old bass is in class all its own.
Its a 76 series one , zebra wood top, lacewood back with a 7 ply body including top and back.
5 piece neck - I had it refinished 10 years ago due to wear, I'll get around to getting a S1 5 string one of these days anyway thats my rant, My regards to you all.

Stu,
Your '76 sounds like a beauty. How 'bout posting a pic?

Hello Stu and welcome!
Pics are a must. That is a pretty good testimonial for some who works for an instrument manufacturer, but prefers Alembic. Then again, who wouldn't?

76! That bass is nearly as old as I am!!
That's cool that you still consider it king.
We need a witty saying here, like Old Alembics never die, they just ...
Hope to see a picture soon!
Peace,

I'll twist one of my favorite sayings to finish keebler's thought....
Old Alembics never die, they just lay on the bottom
My original incarnation of this phrase was Old Bass Players......
Welcome to the club, doctor
Peace,
James

Stu,
Welcome and how right you are, Alembics are a class of their own. So are their owners.....
