Producer & Studio Owner, Sydney Aust.
Purchased six strg gtr in 1973 s/n074.
Traded up to custom 7strg in 1977. Has same
s/n. Maple AAAAA top/back, Ebony f/b. SeriesII
electronics. More suitable now for recordings
because of CD/DVD technology. I use it direct to ProTools and AMPlify it later. At gigs I use a Boogie.

Blackfeather!! - thats a blast from the past.
Welcome to the club - I hope to have an Australian launch for Alembic guitars next year. We just had the bass launch - you can see the photos at: http://www.petezimagez.com/alembic/ (http://www.petezimagez.com/alembic/)

G'Day, from Tennessee.
Robbo, it's really good to have you here, as Alembic GUITAR players are even more rare than we bass guys.
Don't be a stranger, hope to hear from you. Watch the posts, and 'chime in'.

Welcome aboard Robbo!
I have to agree with Joey, an Alembic guitar player is rare. Now for the obligatory statement: We want to see pics! It sounds like you have a fascinating guitar there;) Just beware of people wearing stockings......

Just beware of people wearing stockings...... ???
Oh, I get it. Women wear them too.... dangerous creatures that.
Another welcome to the club from New England.

HA .....HA ....HA!
Huh ..that's difficult to laugh with those stockings on your head, it's also a problem when you get a cold an start sneezing. aaaaaaaaaatc haaaaaaaaa ...blob!
Well ...pictures indeed! As I understand the mail we talking here about a 7 (seven??????) string guitar ...series II ...that must be a monster?!?!?
Or did I read that wrong again.
Paul the bad one
PTGO If I were you I'll put my head for rent as amplifier ...LOL.
It must be a big head!?!? What stockings are you using?!??!

robbo,
welcom to the club!there is alot of nice people here to talk to about your pride and joy.look foward to your imput.B.Piercefield

Hello to everyone. Thanks for being so nice.
Yes it's a 7strg. AAAAA Maple front/back. Ebony neck
Paduak laminations. Originally had red LEDs but I took 'em out. Neck's quiet narrow but playable. Lowest action of any guitar I''ve ever played. .10 - .70 gauge strgs.
Also have Alembic input module somewhere. Electronics were replaced in 1990. This axe sustains like f***!!! The low-end rivals most basses!!!
Only gtr I own that can be plugged into ProTools directly. I use Amplitube to get the atypical gtr colors.
RE: Pics. Haven't got a really good one but I'll try to upload something soon..... The gtrs character is nothing like a Strat or LP, although it can imitate them. Basically, they're too expensive for most musos. I have a number of compositions where the gtr is featured, dating from 1980. If anyone would like to hear a selection I might be able to arrange it.
