Post by: marcky on November 22, 2005, 05:41:56 AM
I have been dreaming about this bass since I was 15 years old (thats a long time ago) and I finally got one. It's a beauty!! from 1977 number 778

Welcome to the club Marc and congratulations on your new bass. You'll have to post pics of the rest of your collection.

Sorry Marc. I've just realised I was looking at your previous alembics entry. Must have been a wrench to let them go, even for this beauty.

I didn't play those other Alembics very often. They were a bit to heavy and didn't have the sound of a series-1 bass. The series-1 I own now is the best thing I ever had I play it all the time(I really should get some sleep). My previous Alembics did look great didn't they?

Gorgeous! I've never seen a rear headstock/back of neck quite like yours. It looks unique -with respects to the veneers coming down extra far. Was that a custom feature, do you know.

At the risk of sounding repetitious -as I just said the comment I'm about to say to another Alembic owner- your bass really captures the classic Alembic beauty and elegance. Welcome to the club!

I asked Rick Turner, he said they did do a few basses like this but it's very rare.
This bass was originaly made for a shop in Germany.
