Post by: bbd on August 28, 2006, 02:18:56 AM: Alembics are as rare as hens teeth in Australia. I finally after 30 years of playing got myself one. It's a 1993 Epic 5 string, I have had it 2 hours and already I am about to pack away the P Bass. Very impressed, can't wait to gig with it. It feels like a long lost friend even now. Why did I wait so long? Roger

I'm about an hour north of Brisbane, I picked it up on eBay in the USA. What sort of Alembic do you have?

Although there is a deal in progress that should be sending a 5 string Rogue across the Pacific in the next week or so.

Brisbane is nice- I'm actually an American living here in NZ. I've got nothing at stake in the NZ/Aussie rivalry, but I sure like to stir the pot!

Have just listed one of my Fenders (18 last count) on eBay and many more to come so I can afford these great instruments. David from www.greensquare.net (http://www.greensquare.net) in Australia has a nice Mark King Deluxe with lotsa extras. I have spoken with him and am a gnats whisker away from saying YES I WANT IT!!! I want the S1 as well though. Woe is me.

Another topic, my girlfriend Lynn is in San Francisco for the next 3 weeks and has put her name down to do next weeks Alembic Factory tour, I'm so jealous. It's like a Grand Ma went to Paris and all I got was a lousy t shirt story. Oh well, atleast I'll get a t shirt out of it.
