this is my newest family member  a 1979 4 string fretless tobias  walnut & purpleheart neck walnut body core quilted purpleheart top & back and ebony fingerboard this is an amazing bass built by Tobias him self back in florida when Tobias was just a one man shop. this bass really sings and looks amazing in person

I've never seen purpleheart quilt before.  That's beautiful.

Wow.As much as I like PH,that to me is astounding.I would love to have a quilt PH top Rogue to pair with my flame PH Rogue.Any chance on seeing a more detailed pic of the top?Thanks for the posting.

By the way,Tobie's are fantastic basses.
You should enjoy that one a great deal.
