Title: Greetings from the land of OZ
Post by: phillip on April 11, 2009, 10:42:34 PM
Hi folks! I have just joined the Club after fairly recently acquiring an Epic Fretless 5 String Lefty. Sounds wonderful and is presenting me with some new playing challenges.
I'm on the hunt for other Alembic lefties so if any of you good folk happen to sight any, I'd be grateful for the heads up :-)

Hello Phillip, and welcome from another fretless Epic player (a righty, so no competition). What is the top on your Epic? Lefties are a bit rare, but do turn up periodically. Enjoy the changes playing an Alembic will put you through, cleaning up technique and the like...

Hi Phillip - Bass People in Sydney has plenty of Alembics, fretlesses and lefties - but to get that all in one instruments is an achievement.

Hey Phillip,

I am also from Melbourne.
I play a 4 string fretless as is in the profile.
Can I preempt an Alembic gathering in Melbourne?

Sounds good slawie and mike 13.

I also just got myself a Rogue 6 string, to go along with the fretless 5 string Epic.

It would be nice to catch up and compare our basses.

Anyone want to nominate a time and a place???

Where are you located? If its in Sydney, Bass People would be happy to sponsor a gtg.

Hey Dave,

I'm in Melbourne, so I guess that makes things a little awkward :-(

Welcome to the club Phillip!
I, too own an Epic, fretless 5 although a righty. Mine's got a wenge top and sounds wonderfully gnarly! I also have an Europa 6 string bass with a 5A quilt maple top. Do post a pic so we can all enjoy her too! Sorry, I won't be able to make the land down under GTG, but would love to vist some time and dive the GBR!
