Hello all:
I recently took the plunge and purchased an Alembic F-1x preamp. All I can say is WOW! Prior to purchasing the F-1x, I was never really happy with the sound I got from my German bass. (Sorry, I'm new here and not certain if War***k is a dirty word). Now, the old girl sings!
Thank you Alembic!

Greetings and Congratulations!!. As far as I've experienced, we' re a fairly supportive and non aggressive community, and we don't have such a thing as dirty words like that... do we?. We also own and play other brands of instruments... only to find out Alembic quality is REAL hard to beat . Enjoy your preamp, and your staying here!

Thanks!
I'll stick around! Hopefully even own an Alembic bass someday - it's on the bucket list
I'll keep my eye out for mention of a Chicago gathering. I'm sure that would be interesting.
Thanks!

Hello John,
I'm just north of you, recently moved from Glendale Heights. Welcome to the club. I'm lucky to own an F-1X for the past 7 years or so, and I love it! It sounds great with my Epics and my Distillate. Hope we can get together at a Chicago gathering this year.

Hi!
I'm looking forward to the gathering. I found some pictures of a previous event at the Bag End facility on the forum and it looked like a good time.
I'm more amazed everyday by my F-1X. For the heck of it, over the weekend I plugged in my old MIJ Vantage electric guitar and, with a few tweaks of the EQ, it sounded better than it ever did before (even though I was playing it through a bass rig)!
Cheers,
John
